This year, I’m taking part in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Edmonton 2017 event, May 12 at Terwillegar Rec Centre. Hockey Helps the Homeless is a one day tournament where I’ll be suiting up alongside NHL alumni in my quest to get….a single point. More importantly, I’ll be raising funds to help the homeless population in our city. From HHTH’s website:

Funds were directed towards improving mental health and addiction support and referral services at the Jasper Place Wellness Centre’s Community Centre.

Because I want to do more for the community this year, I set a pretty lofty goal for myself: to raise $5,000 for the event. I want to create incentive for people to pledge, therefore I’m looking for sponsorship opportunities.

Here’s what I’m offering:

  • A one hour video shoot at your business:
  • A 30 second video showcasing your business & support for my fundraising campaign

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • Restaurant experiences for those that donate (dinner & a movie)
  • Sports memorabilia
  • Tickets to sporting events and concerts
  • Cool and creative stuff I haven’t even considered!

I’m looking for the value of these donations to be somewhere in the $100-$200 range, but it’s a good opportunity to get creative. To avoid running afoul of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commissionl, the contest will be free for anyone to open, but those that join the contest will be encouraged to donate to the campaign. The draw will take place on Saturday, May 13. If you and your business are interested, or know of someone that is, please contact me at [email protected] or by phone at 780.993.9014. Let’s destroy this fundraising goal, and create some mutual benefit in the process!
